Which publications does AI cite?

NanoTrans Index measures which publications and articles the major AI answer engines cite as sources. Measurement can start from the outside, with no integration on your side.

Method

The same questions, asked the same way, again and again

  1. Topic question panels

We split topics such as semiconductors, cars and finance, and build panels of questions real users would ask. Core questions stay fixed so trends can be compared.

  2. Answers from major AI engines

We regularly ask the same questions through the official web search APIs of major AI providers, and keep the full answers and cited sources.

  3. Sources mapped to publications and articles

Cited URLs are matched to publications and articles, and citations are aggregated by topic, engine and period.

What you get

Numbers that publishers and advertisers can share

  • Publisher dashboard

See which questions and engines cite your articles and where you stand against competing publications. With Edge, bot measurement data is added.

  • Brand reports

A summary of how brands appear in AI answers to brand-related questions, and which publications are cited.

  • Summary report

The key points from the dashboard in a short report, ready for management reviews and ad sales.
